That sounds about right. The stock wheels on the 84-89 Porsche Carrera are 
7x16 front and 8x16 rear. The stock tires size are 205/55/16 front and 
225/50/16 rear. Some people do use 225/50/16 on the front wheels and 
245/45/16 on rear, but a lot of people advise against that. The Audi S4 B5 
wheels are 7.5x17 and the stock tire size is 225/45/17 on those. Again, 
some guys are running over size tires at 235 mm width with those also.

Anyway, I think going 225 on 6" wheels are pushing it. You would actually 
loose more than what you'd gain in terms of performance, so they kind of 
defeat the purpose.
