Before anyone goes onto tangents and starts speculation about this,
let me clarify something:

225/50R16 is safe on a 6-8" rim width. This is ONLY because it is a 50
series tire. If you look at 17" or larger sizes, nothing in a 225
section width works on a 6" rim except for 225/55R17.

However, 225/50R16 on a 6" rim is the smallest allowable rim size for
this tire. It is not a recommended rim size for this tire by any
means.

I would ONLY use a 225/50R16 SNOW tire on a 6" rim- any other
application seriously compromises traction due to the lack of sidewall
support.
