Well usually a third to a half of a quart. Thats about what I was thinking 
too Jim, and I'm building slowly a new motor and I think I'm going to mpve 
the pickup towards the rear and a bit lower into the pan. I'm also thinking 
about doing a 2 stage pump belt driven, but that will seriously delay 
installing the engine because of my budget!
