When the majority of list members manage to:

-quote messages properly so our archives aren't screwed up
-stop changing subject lines so our archives aren't screwed up
-stop quoting entire digests/threads so we don't waste bandwidth and 
fill the archives
-stop posting ebay auctions
-stop posting for sale items
-stop attacking each other in public pissing-contest threads

...I'll be more than happy to stop posting my 
rather-once-in-a-blue-moon off-topic postings about critical societal 
issues.
