87.5 CGT Panhard Rod -- bent or straight?

My TFA only shows a cutaway, i.e. the ends of a rod with a zagged line
between (there has to be a name for that). I'm assuming if there was/is an
angled version, it'd be there, but I am learning not to put anything past
VAG or the software.
It looks too correct for me to think it was bent by impact. Car aligns
fine. The rod's unbent length would be 48", and the mounting points are 46"
& change, so that doesn't make sense to me either.
Really baffled. Maybe I'll just tell people Panhard got fired and this is
the rare factory Schmetzenburg rod.
