Whaddaya, nuts? :-)
Mazda's newest rotary is in the RX-8. Most accounts criticize
the lack of low-down torque, which has always been a rotary
engine problem.
If I had a rotary engine, I'd put it in something small,
like a Bugeye Sprite.
If I had a Type 44 that needed an engine, I'd put in a
small block Chevy, a la LT1Q.
That said, don't let the doom sayers stand in your way.
Go for it.
