Just to share my experiences I had a rotor arm wear out in about 35k
miles, to the point where the car was misfiring. When I inspected it the tip
of the rotor was badly roasted and blackened for some reason. Possibly it
was related to a period when I had some wires at the end of their useful
life and some wide gapped old spark plugs, I dunno, but I thought 35k was a
fairly short distance on an expensive dealer part. (this was the straight
forward non-limiter arm 055 905 225B). Funnily enough the cap, which was the
same age, after a quick scrape was still good for more so I'd venture that
the rotor is fairly short lived but the cap would prolly last 40k or more.
Maybe I could've ressurected the rotor with a thorough clean, but that would
have been penny pinching..
Cheers,
