"Still, Mr. Pischetsrieder has begun to distance himself from his
predecessor's autocratic style and some of his decisions - particularly
a
costly campaign to vault Volkswagen into the luxury market with the
$75,000
Phaeton"
Um, I'm no financial or auto industry expert, but isn't this why you
have luxury lines? ie Audi?
I mean if VW produces a car which is more expensive or more "luxurious"
than even the A8, .................well, it just doesn't seem to make
sense.
Shouldn't your luxury line take off where your "normal" flagship leaves
off? ie Lexus' start at the Camry, Infinitis start at the Maxima, Audis
start at the Passat?
It would certainly seem odd to me to see a Nissan which is "better"
(highly subjective term) than their Infiniti line, and so on (the higher
cost and blurred market of SUVs aside)
