If there were a list award for the most useful URL supplied by a Qlister,
you'd get my vote. Works great, and no more having to fill out forms
with fake names and e-mail addresses. I'm sure there must be piles and
piles of junk mail at the post office addressed to "nowhere St.", 1313
Mockingbird Lane, 1600 Penn Ave., 221B Baker St. etc. etc.etc.

As for the VW article, having been to a VW dealer recently with the wife
(gotta at least make an effort to pretend that her input is important ;-)
(they have incentives on just about everything EXCEPT the diesel I want),
felt like I was at a carney game and the sales people treated me like
some rube. I gave them rope by acting like I didn't know squat, asked
about the "lifetime" spark plugs in the diesel. If this experience is
any indication of their dealer network...they're better start spending
some money on customer relations and satisfaction training, there's just
too much comparable product out there to play the snoby/sleezy game with
people. The sales people will be in for a surprise, I've known and been
friends with the GM for this dealership chain for years (since way back
when he was lot boy and bicycled to work) and will be calling him to say
"hi" this week.
