I dont have my Bentley in front of me, but would be shocked if it didnt
plainly and emphatically say to make sure you move the heater controls to
'hot' when refilling, lest you get airbound.

Frankly, I don't know if the coolant light would flash if you were in fact
airbound, but that was the first thing I thought of when reading your post.
There could be a very small but hot air pocket in the cooling system.   I
warped a head this way once in under five minutes--double check those heater
controls!
