Repairing a rusted oil pan

You only have to lower the subframe - which is *really* easy.  (loosen 
front bolts, remove rear ones, as I recall)

A new pan at the dealer should be well under $100 US (plus a gasket) and 
will fix the problem completely.  All the little bolts are a small PITA, 
but there's no real knuckle busting on the job.

Considering how long your engine will last if the leak or patch suddenly 
gets a lot worse on the highway, it really becomes worth that hour or 
three under the car.  Besides, you'll get to see your crankshaft....
