Sometimes shops CAN get best parts prices

Just got off the phone with the shop that's doing the clutch MC. They tested the slave and say it's fine and are suggesting only doing the MC. I figure since it would be covered under a 1 year warranty no matter what...I'll go with thier suggestion. They say it looks like it was simply that the rod broke due to misallignment at the connection with the pedal. Anyway, the shocking thing? The BEST price I could find was $90 + shipping (total around $100)for a new MC at one of the WorldPac dealers...he got it for $50! My CGT should be back on the road by the end of the day, assuming he doesn't get any "emergeny" calls (I get lower priority sicne I get an employee discount due to who I work for and the fact that he KNOWS I have a spare car)...

This jsut goes to show that you should NOT assume that your local mechanic is trying to "rip you a new one" on parts prices...always ask them what they will charge you for the parts...
