My headlights suck! What can I do?

let me suggest that the wiring from the power source and ground source to
the lights might be to blame. from what i have seen on vw's, not that
familiar with audi's yet to comment, the wiring connections and possibly
the wire can come to have a higher resistance over time from corrosion or
over heating of the wire/terminals. here is a simple test, make yourself
a set of test leads consisting of some two pair wire and a fuseable link or
inline fuse and some of the appropriate terminals. disconnect one of
your headlights and patch it in with this set up at night and compare
the output with the other one. if its brighter you know you have a
wiring/connection issue to resolve. fairly cheap but labor intensive some
times to fix right.
