Hi all,

I recently had a look at a '86 90Q (4000Q) that was cheap in the local
paper. It has been sitting around for about a year. I took a battery
along with me, and was surprised when it started on the second turn of
the engine.

It has some lifter noises which quietened down after about a minute.
The temperature gauge was not working, and the temperature light stayed
flashing. Are these both run off the same sensor / switch?

Apart from that I didn't take it for a drive because it wasn't
registered and didn't have a WOF. It has done about 220K km, and it has
a full service history, the service book is full of dealer stamps at
regular intervals. It looked generally like it had been looked after
until it was parked.

It did have a bit of rust in the bottom left corner of the windscreen-
I have noticed this on a few now- is this common?

Anything else to look for before I make the guy an offer?
