Oh, good point, Bob, as mine cannot be operated independently of the headlights either.... My understanding is that the '02 A4's could be VAG-COM'd to have the fog lights operate with the parking lights only, but something changed from '03-forward to prevent that...

Oh.  They do little to help with fog since they cannot be operated without the headlights also being turned on.  :-(  Perhaps I should dig into the wiring to make that mod one of these days.
