No Boost over 1.0

What you are describing sounds like a very classic case of spark blowout. I
don't know how much of an issue it is with these motors, but with the
Mitsubishi 3.0 Twin Turbo this is VERY common. I don't know all the science
behind it, but at higher boost it is harder for the spark to jump across the
plug. In my 3000GT club, guys running higher than stock boost have to gap
down their plugs to prevent the exact problem that you are describing.
Remove your plugs and examine them. If they are fresh, clean the inside of
the contacts with some sandpaper and/or wire brush and re-gap the plug to
stock or slightly smaller gap. If they are worn, replace with new ones. I
would recommend triple platinum, or at least double platinum. I have had
horrible luck with the multi-electrode type plugs and spark blowout. I
recommend to stay away from "spitfire" or "+4" type plugs. Get the regular
single electrode plugs that you can gap yourself. Check the gap - regardless
of what the pimply kid behind the parts' store counter says, they are NOT
properly gapped from the factory! Install and test the car. If the problem
is still around, gap the plugs down a bit. On my 3000GT stock gap was
.038-.041. Running only 2 PSI over stock boost, I and many others ran .032
gap to prevent blowout.
Good luck, let us know how it turns out.

Jeff's got me thinking.........Bucking.......
Spark plug wires? Make total sense, misfire = low boost due to misfire.
Spray a mist around them, better in the dark.
