5ktq still doesn't start

It seems to be entirely possible for the fuel pumps themselves to become
internally flaky; when the one on my '90 200 died I couldn't get it to
run even by jumpering at the fp relay socket. I removed it from the
tank and jumpered it on the floor w a spare battery and it puked fuel
(not necessarily safe btw, fuel and electrical sparks that is). Later I
attempted to jumper it again and nothing.
This is not to say the fp is your problem (it's easy to blame), but
it's easy to check, just jumper the two large connections under the
relay and see if it kicks on; was easier on an avant w the windows
rolled down and interior cover removed, would only be a bit harder w a
sedan. Of course even if the pump doesn't kick on it may only show you
that you have a wiring issue between the relay and the pump plug, so
something to consider.

My car still doesn't start. It's been sitting on the street for over a
week
now. :(
There is spark, but we can't hear the fuel pump running, so I'm pretty
sure
that's what's wrong. We changed the fuse and the relay but it made no
difference. The weird thing is that the day after it first didn't
start, I
tried it, and it started up as nothing ever was wrong, but not since
then.
I am thinking it's an electrical connection issue somewhere.
Any ideas? The car is an 88 5ktq with Scott Mocry's chipped ECU.
Thanks,
ZSolt
