Well really I doubt Ivan's going to do much to us here. From what I'm
watching it looks like it's going west so I should be ok. Even if it does
I'm still ready for World War III! Got plenty of ammo (gun's like my car - a
finely tuned peice of prescision German engineeing!), plenty of
food/water/pepsi, and still have 20+ gallons of gas for the generator. I
think the worst part is that I've been planning to head up to Mike Arman's
house to relieve him of a 5k and some parts, but the hurricanes keep
delaying the trip further!

Ironically though you mention a V8, the one I'm working on isn't boosted
(yet), but it should be 500hp (LT1, big cam, custom heads, roler lifters
roller rockers, 383cid stroker, JE pistons, custom rods). I was occuping
myself during the hurricane building a wire harness for the MegaSquirt w/
MegaSquirt'N Spark thats going to drive it! The best part? It's planted in a
2400lb bare-bones Porsche 944! Should be fun to say the least! I only wish
it was destined to live in my garage instead of the stock broker customer's!

I do have a stock of soft plastic tubing though that I plan to heat and bend
to make....[drumroll please]....header tubes! 5 of them, not 8 (yet), which
should set me down for the last few steps before I need to hunker down and
buy the stainless bits. I have my flanges now, so I'm only down the tubing.
I've even been spending a few hours after work once a week honing my TIG
welding skills on steel pipe scraps, and I'm starting to make some purdy
looking stuff.

My new plan is that I'm going to build up a fresh stock bottom end, drop on
my ported head with the 8000rpm valve springs and 272cam, set the header on
that, and do an intercooler all at the same time. That should _DEFINATELY_
be a very very drastic change once I swap in that setup! Only trouble is
that all of that will take time, mostly to get ahold of the parts to make it
happen. I also need to have my turbo rebuilt, it's starting to not produce
quite as much boost as it used to (I'm down to 2.2bar with the wastegate
slammed shut, used to run 2.5bar), and afterall I did pluck it off of a
shelf with 8 years worth of dust on top.

While I'm in the bottom end is there any thing's that I should definately
do, like aftermarket crank bolts/rod bolts, or are the stock ones stroner
then the rods anyway? Oil pump upgrades out there for the MC?
