I was wondering when someone would mention those :-) They also had a
GIANT pressure gauge and whatnot. Maybe teaching aids. Who knows.
That said, the training center guys said they don't do much in the
way of nitty-gritty work; they expect that by the time the techs come
to them, they've already learned how to yank a caliper off a car and
whatnot at their trade school or as part of ASE certification. So,
for brake system maintenance, training is more on specific Audi
tools, diagnostics, understanding car systems, etc. He pointed to
what is quite possibly the fanciest brake bleeder I've ever seen; the
door was open to the guts and it was a maze of plumbing and valves.
Not really sure why, either...it doesn't seem like rocket science.
