bad used car shopping experience

Having never bought a used car from a dealer, I can only imagine what it's like without the 'quality control' exercised by a manufacturer.... <tongue firmly planted in cheek>
 
I've had both experiences - with and without salesperson - but when I bought my A4, the guy did come along. But it was fun, he had a 20-minute loop with all types of roads on it, including a washboard gravel road, and encouraged me to push the car hard. Which I did, knowing that I wasn't going to buy the particular one I was driving.... ;-)
