"new" old visor: cleaning?

Just got a new visor out of a junk car to replace my existing forhead 
whacker.  However this replacement visor is kind of grungy.  What's the best 
products & methods to use for cleaning?  I thought just a mild soap and run 
some water over since the material appears to be vinyl-ish.
