Locks just broke (1978 5000CS Turbo Quattro)

You'd best get that driver door lock fixed ASAP.  There are plenty of
reports in the archives of guys who have put off repairs to the driver lock
while they used the passenger side, only to have the passenger side fail
and then they can't get the car unlocked at all.
