Chris,

As for pads, I like the Repco/Axxis Deluxe (NOT MetalMasters). Good
response, low dust, so far in my Suburban driving, not prone to fade.
Haven't tried urban, but don't expect anything too bad. I have stock
rotors front and rear, but my 200 outweights your 5K by nearly a couple
of hundred pounds, so I'd bet they'd be fine. Inexpensive, too. Got this
tip from lister Smitty.

As for the SS lines, you absolutely WANT braided lines that have some
form of external sheathing. The theory is that debris gets in the braids
of
unsheathed lines, and then wears a hole into the teflon line within the
braids. That causes the failure. BTW, rubber lines are similar in
construction,
however they'd likely bulge when they started to fail whereas SS lines
can't.
So they're easier to inspect. Not any less likely to fail. As for line
sources,
not endorsing them, but I noted that ECS has sheilded, DOT approved SS
brake lines for G60 equipped UrS's. Didn't bother to check for type 44,
although I'd bet they have them.

HTH,
