B5 S4 - HID headlight non-functional

A hair dryer set to point at the light and left on for a few hours always
worked great for me...

Try running VAG-COM on the HID light module to see if there are
any fault codes.  Maybe the moisture has damaged the ballast or
the control unit.  Other than that, perhaps the bulb has been
blown and needs replacement.  You should clean the inside of the
light housing to remove all moisture.  This will probably be
difficult to do unless you remove the headlight housing from the
car.
