Huh? Pushrod engine? Truck? Rear wheel drive? Can you even call that an Audi
anymore?!

Subject: Audi to NASCAR Announced Today
Audi Sport NA has announced intent to enter NASCAR's
Nextel Cup series. Following Toyota as the second
non-American car maker in NASCAR, Audi will develop a
pushrod V8 engine to run in a rear wheel drive Pick-Up
truck version of the Pikes Peak to "get their feet
wet" in this great American racing pastime. Audi plans
to build an all steel body version of the A8 to comply
with Nextel Cup rules. Audi will also begin an engine
program for the Grand Am series DP class cars. Testing
is scheduled to begin one year from today, on April 1, 2006.
