It has a 1.8 bar wastegate spring or wastegate is adjusted to provide 1.8
bar mechanically - renders the frequency valve as redundant, but can cause
overboost without opposing control of the freq. valve. At least that is how
it works in the 5kturbo.

Could also mean your lower wastegate hose is failing, but not to the point
of getting overboost - yet.

I have read somehwere that you can check the mechanical boost by driving the
car with the WGFV unplugged. Well i have tried it unplugged and plugged
(disconnected the electrical connection), made no difference at all to the
level of boost i was getting on the dash gauge 1.8bar. Any thoughts on what
this means???? Or am i going completely mad??

Thanks
