Tires for the '87 Audi 5KCSTQ

I've put about 40k on a set of the HP 714's on my 87' 5kcstq. I've been
quite happy with them. PO had put them on 2,000 miles before I bought
the car, and admittedly they wouldn't have been a tire I would have
considered. I've been pleasantly surprised though.

They have a fairly soft sidewall, but their grip is actually pretty
impressive. They have been good in the rain, and much better in the
snow than I would have expected for an all season tire. Also, even with
40k on them, they've still got at least half tread left if not more.

I actually recommended to local lister friend to buy a set for his A4.
He runs them as winter tires on my old 5ktq rims. With the winters we
get -cold and with snow, but quick snow removal- they're perfect.

Good Luck!
