I haven't replaced my switch (yet :), but I'm guessing that
maybe the part you replaced is the electrical portion, while
the "spring" part is the keyed portion. If so, maybe you can
clean it -- spray WD-40 into the key hole, work the key in
and out, then maybe hit it with a light oil like 3-in-1 oil.
If that doesn't free it up, it might be time for a new keyed
portion of the switch. You should be able to re-use your
tumblers so you can use the same key; check the archives.
