Help, wiring gurus needed

How long could it take to find a short that is most likely in the trunk lid
hinge wiring like it has been on all big Audis since 1980?

OK, maybe the S6 is a different design, but I doubt it.

I agree with all who have said that this is shoddy workmanship.  Of course
they did call you and you agreed that they should do it, which was a
mistake on your part.

This reminds me of the time I picked up my car from the best AC place in
the area only to find they had installed a brand new AC compressor ON/OFF
toggle switch "like the new cars use" in order to save me the extra expense
they would have incurred actually finding the reason that the controller
was not activating the compressor clutch after they charged the system.
That was the last time I had someone do AC service on one of my cars.

So I have now added AC to the DIY list. I figure I can learn to do that
too, or else I will just keep the power windows operating.
