Hi, Brendan. Owning a 4KQ myself (I met you awhile ago to pick up an A/C
condenser for it), I'd say that at $1500, you have a deal. As long as
there's no indication of worn out ball joints, tie rods, subframe
bushings, etc. and the drivetrain/clutch seem solid + the bodywork is
basically rust-free, you've basically got a "good" one.Your lots of
"hands-on" experience with coupes will serve you well here. The diff
problems may be nothing more than rotted vacuum hoses. Have you tried
looking underneath the car to work the diff lock levers and to see if
the nipples are broken? And also to look for rust, particularly around
the tie rods?
