Crankshaft position sensor connector full of oil?

While underhood this afternoon, I noticed the wiring connector for the
crankshaft position sensor on my '92 100S was covered in oil. The connector
I am referring to is located on the upper rear of the passenger side of the
engine bay on the firewall, among about 6 other wiring plugs. When I
unplugged it, more oil ran out. It's the only plug there that is oily on the
inside. I cannot locate exactly where the oil came from, unless it came from
the crankshaft position sensor itself and followed the wiring all the way up
to the plug (probably about 4 feet, and mostly up). There are no oil lines
nearby, and everything else in the vicinity but this plug is dry. The car
runs fine, so obviously the sensor is OK. Anyone seen this before? I checked
the archives, but didn't find anything like this.
