Some of you who remember me when I was more active on the list before getting sick a few winters ago know that I have bought *all* of the Bentley manuals (for my hubby) for every Audi we have owned (about 5 of them). A super-nice fella lister by the name of Kurt helped my hubby a while back change the timing belt on his car.
My hubby used to do all of our work, but he now has a handyman business and instead of managing an apartment building for our rent we have to pay it ourselves. ;-) He just doesn't have the time for time-consuming jobs like a timing belt and he was worried with the Turbo there was too much stuff to fool around with. He said he would rather work and have me take it to the garage. Without help from someone else, he just didn't have the confidence to take on this timing belt job himself.
So I would be HAPPY, THRILLED in fact to pay someone who CARES about Audis and would like to do the work.
The worst part of it is, they rushed me with the rental car--she says "Oh, let me help you unload!" and I was early with the car. A *very* expensive lightweight pair of sunglasses/case had slide under the seat and with the grief at the shop, my back hurting from the drive again, I forgot about them until later.
I was so annoyed about and adding THAT up to my lost revenues on this project I told my hubby next time I need a rental car I am going to buy another used Audi as a backup!!!!!!!!!!!!
I found another foreign import shop *after* I returned from Phoenix--in fact the guy who recommended the Chevron gas and additive for my hard start and lugging--he said, don't make an appointment until you see how that gas work for ya! Pretty nice.
But if anyone on this wants a wonderful place to live, consider Flagstaff!!! Sunny almost every day--high desert and DRY--fresh air, nice people, tons of Ponderosa Pines and trails, skiing, hiking, small town life, but Trader Joe's will be moving in. Elk and other wildlife everywhere. Nice police department. And, we do have indoor running water. ;-)
Cheers, Fay
