Boy Oh Boy, when it rains, it pours.  Here are some more
random thoughts:

- file a report with the Better Business Bureau, listing
   all the mechanic's/shop's mistakes
- get a 2nd beater car, maybe a 4KQ, to use when the "good"
   one is under repair
- be nice to your husband and give him the time to work on
   the good one. Having a 2nd car will take the pressure off
   of having to get the repair done "by Monday".
- save your pennies and when you have enough, find a well
   maintained older Audi (200 TQ comes to mind), then dump
   the beast you have (or make it the backup beater)
- move back to Minneapolis :)
