3 words: Marvel Mystery Oil.

Throw in a quart for 1 week then change the oil & filter. You may need to do this a couple of times if it's bad. Then fill it one pint short and add 1 pint MMO until the next oil change. Repeat every oil/filter change. Problem solved.

No magic here. MMO is just a good solvent that seems safe enough. I've used it on many different engines for decades. There are probably many others that are just as good but I can't vouch for them. It'll clean out all the oil passages without killing seals, etc.

Strange how this "sludging" problem affects many different 4 cylinder turbo engines. The 4G63 engines on the Talon/Eclipse would get this all the time. I know :-). Guys would tear their hair out chasing phantoms. You'd read "Use this filter" or "That filter" or "This oil", etc. Hell, some guys would even replace all their noisy (clogged) lifters! Stupid, stupid, stupid. If the engine design creates sludge, then just use something that cleans the sludge out and eliminates further sludge formation. If that's a new engine, well OK, but it's a lot easier just to throw in some MMO or equiv.

I applaud you if you decide to stand up to Audi, but if all else fails...
