If you want to fight back, don't have them install the valve cover.
Grab a friend and push it out into the street in front of the
dealership and park it there. Put a *big* sign in the car's window
that says, "Audi sludge problem. Audi won't fix it. Dealer wants $$$
to put it back together as is. Questions? Email me at aamarks at cox.net."
See how long it takes the dealer to address your problem. In the
mean time, make plans to replace the valve cover yourself or plan
to tow it to an independent shop to do it.
