Dealer service (was: New A6 Avant ...)

My GM (yes, General Motors!) dealer called me today to say that they had
ordered some parts for me and that they had been in for a few weeks, and
they wanted to know if I still wanted them! Imagine, a dealer calling to ask
if you wanted the parts they had ordered for you (I had forgotten about
them)!!!
After my favorite service writer (Neil S) left his dealership, I never got a
call telling my my car(s) were done with service. And when I moved and had
to use another dealer, same thing. And forget it if parts I ordered came in.
I had to call and bug them.
But GM...evil, bad GM...they've been GREAT with any dealings I've had with
them for my 1996 Blazer.
