Just go in there with a continuity tester and see what wires work, go in
there with a 12V+ and see if you can spin the starter, or make the
solenoid click over. Trouble shoot it baby 8-) the starter circuit is
SUPER simple, even I can trouble shoot those, and I can't find an oil
filter on a 1988 90q :)

I don't have one to look at and confirm, sorry. But it's worth
stressing, actually *test* wiring with a multimeter. Visual tests,
*especially* with older wiring simply isn't good enough. Also worth
testing while wiggling the wires, especially near connections.
