no, it is external like the 4k is... looks like this:

From what you have done so far, it sure sounds like your pump is not a
pump anymore.
One last thing, which it sounds like you have pretty much tried by
cracking the filter connections, is to open a line right after the pump
(carefully! as all this work should be done - outside, etc.) and see if
fuel comes out when powering the pump.
If you absolutely must do this indoors, do it with all doors open and
some positive ventilation. Fuel fumes are heavier than air and will
accumulate near the floor - to the point where a spark could get you
some of that ignition you've been missing out on, but in the wrong place.
