Patient is my 87.5 CGT. The compressor came loose (bolts actually fell out), not sure whether the bolts came out causing the belt to slip or whether it locked up and then the slipping belt vibrated the bolts out. Will be going to the store to get some new bolts and a belt later today, installing tomorrow...but if the compressor is shot...I really want to ditch the York piston type compressor in favor of a lighter, smaller, more efficeint rotary compressor. A company called I.C.E. AC makes an adaptor kit thayt would allow me to use a Saden rtory compressor. http://www.iceac.com/kits.html So, how are the Saden units? Anyone delt with ICE AC before? Good? Bad? Ugly?
I've also e-mailed them to ask if they have every considered making a kit that would allow us to use a more generic rotary unit like the GM "Pancake" compressor...indestructible, cheap and easy to find (remans for $39.99 at your FLAPS)...we'll see what they say...
