86 4000 CSQ advice

There isn't any grinding, just hard to push into gear. You wouldn't happen to 
know the location of the oil fill plug would you? would it be pretty easy to 
crack it open and check for oil? Or does the quattro have a tranny dipstick?

The plug is a 17mm allen on the drivers side of the trans. You have to have the car up on a lift or ramps to get to it. The one on the bottom is for draining, the side, for checking and filling. When you pull it, fluid should either slightly run out, or if you put your finger into the hole, it should be withing 2mm of the bottom of the hole.
