checking diff oil level

Oh, this is going back a ways ...

I think its on the side of the center diff, accessible from behind the 
driver's front wheel, toward the top (duh).

ps: my recolection is that the clutch pedal is pretty syrupy anyway, 
showing little relationship between force and clutch resistance.  And 
200k is not a lot for the basic car.  its amazing how little wear adn 
tear 110hp can do :-)
