wheel bearings - "hub shark"

It works quite well. It's a huge bolt and nut with several different sized rings that work to pull the hub and race out. You have to be cautious when reassembling, so as not to push the inner race through. Used it about 100 times when I worked for a shop. Not sure where you would get one, or how much though. Probably cheaper to have the machine shop do it. But......if you have several Audi's, or plan on doing more, might be worth it.

There's a tool called a "hub shark" that suposedly works, but you might
as well go get it pressed out at a mechanic or a machine shop for 20
bucks or so.

Typical pressing out guage will typically read 6-12 or so tonnes.

Subject: wheel bearings

the subject is a 1987 audi 5000cstq. To remove the front bearings in
this car, do you need a press? if so, is there any way to remove the
bearings without a press? Thank you!
