Well, I wouldn't say "completely different"."

Discussions like this one usually ignore the fact that the letter IS an 
integral part of the part number, and as such any combination indicates a 
particular and unique part.  True, it MAY be a variation of a core number, 
but it's still unique, and only incidentally MAY be an interchangeable part, 
or a superceding one.  The first group is a platform identifier, the second 
is generally a subsystem identifier, and the 3rd group
indicates the particular part.  John
