If your talking about VirtualCD mode of operation, then I can try to
explain:

VirtualCD is a software that allows you to create an exact copy of a CD in
a folder on your hard drive, and it will then act exactly as a CD player.
You give VirtualCD a drive letter, and it will appear like a new CD player
in Windows Explorer. You can upload as many CD as you have space on your
hard drive. Then, when you load a game/application, the VirtualCD will be
there if the software needs a CD to run. It worked well for me for many
racing car games (what else !), and some kid games.

If I remember well, one of these games (Rally Trophy, older rally cars,
cool game !) had a CD with a "key", a sector of the CD that prevent you to
copy it. But VirtualCD had no problem with that, the copy it made had that
"key" as well.

Hope that helps,

LaR
