new laptop - looking for Bentley install tip

The version of Bentley for my 1993 100 assumes you'll keep the CD in the
drive when using the application.
The procedure that I'm unable to find instructed one how to copy the
contents of the CD to the drive--and then modify one (or perhaps) two
files. From there foreward you had full access to the application
without having to lug the CD with you.
>From a legality point of view--I assume its OK. I have one and only one
copy installed.
The newer versions of Bentley use an application call eBahn. Installing
the CD contents to the disk is an advertised feature of this version.

I don't have the procedure, but the modern manuals are selectable to
"hard disk." Often it searches first for a CD then you have to
manually select a link inside the program (despite setting the data to
hard disk previously).
It's easy, straightforward. Call or write to Bentley's tech
support... they'll have the answer at the ready if you need talked
through it.
Unless you're trying to install an um..."illegal" copy. Then I'm not
touching it. =)
