Mercedes had problems with theirs too, back in the late 1950's when they
put their version in to production cars. This is hardly "cutting edge"
technology as some seem to think, the Mercedes version was subject to the
technology of the day and used a hydraulic clutch actuator. I've driven
a few "hydro clutches" (or whatever they were called) and the anemic 220
became even more so. Took about 40 years for the electronics to
implement the idea successfully to come along. I bet their were others
who tried too, but the Mercyless Benz is the only one I have any BTDT
with.
Clutch pedals seem to be going the way of the buggy whip.
