Hello all,
I have a 2001.5 A4 1.8T Quattro w/ Sport suspension (which came with the 17"
mags).
I'm going in for a wheel alignment today, following my second rear wheel
bearing replacement (now done both sides).
I happened to take a look in the Service Manual, and I see that they list
the specs for the alignment, but there are many different specs, and I'm not
quite sure which one applies to my specific car. The list looks something
like this (from pages S 44-1):
"Wheel alignment Specs - all wheel drive vehicles"
1BA Standard Suspension
1BC Special Suspension
1BP Heavy Duty Suspension
1BE Sport Suspension
1BB, ABT Heavy Duty Suspension
On top of all those, there is a whole other chart, with all the same
options, only this one is titled "Wheel alignment Specs - All Wheel Drive
vehicles w/ aluminum strut mounting bracket", with slightly different specs
for some of the numbers.
Lastly, there is another chart listed, called "Wheel Alignment specs, sport
suspension (1BD)" with another set of specs (but this one doesn't mention if
it's for front or all wheel drive cars).
So, from what I can tell, I have 3 possible options.
a) Wheel alignment Specs - all wheel drive vehicles, Sport Suspension (1BE)
b) Wheel alignment Specs - All Wheel Drive vehicles w/ aluminum strut
mounting bracket, Sport Suspension (1BE)
c) Wheel Alignment specs, sport suspension (1BD)
I looked on the options sticker in the trunk, but it doesn't list any of the
above option codes. I looked on my original purchase form, but it only says
"PQT - Sport package"
Is there anywhere I can look up this info, based on VIN number? Anyone have
any experience with deciphering which code to use? Service manual gives you
all these specs, but I can't find any indication how someone is supposed to
find out which one to use?
Or should I not bother, and just let the garage look up the specs in their
computer, and use what ever it says?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks.
