Gentlemen and Ladies,

Just a BTDT for the list!

Started having a dead battery (intermittent) in the morning and also
occasionally when leaving work. Battery tested good (year old), charging
system was working correctly, good grounds, etc. etc.

Put the digital meter on the battery and utilized the amperage shunt to
determine system drain. No draw! Used a digital thermometer to check relays
for "heat", pulled fuses, relays, etc, nada..

After several days of no evident draw and still a dead battery in the
morning I put the meter on the battery after work and was putzing in the
garage. About two hours later I glanced at the meter and saw it jump to 3
amps... Put the digital thermometer on the door lock and viola, it was
blazing hot!

Turned out both the micro-switch on the door handle AND the lock heat
controller were flakey..

Eric
