I know this would sound like blasphemy! So I apologize in advance; NOTHING
beats a good set of HID headlights, no amount of wattage on a STD. SAE or
Euro headlight would make up for it.

I have the hella 4000 euro beams on my 4kq and basically they are a more 
practical version of the pencil beam pretty much like a driving beam.  For 
pencil's to be useful you need to have about 6 of them but the euro beams 
have a slightly wider beam and a non optics-free lens.  I think the euro 
beams are a great pattern personally because they light up a huge area with 
130 watt bulbs (brighter than daylight) and they still have a reflective 
distance of like a mile in the 4000s.  hope this helps, and sorry for 
rambling.
