more on type44 elec. probs (LONG)

As previously posted, my '87 5kcstq's instrument panel
goes dead on occasion; works normally when it feels
like it. (car runs great, thankfully) It seems related
to ign. switch (on order). I wanted to note a couple
of other symptoms to get feedback before I start this
repair.

1. when panel was dead, I turned lights on and heard a
buzzing/clicking sound from behind the dr. side a/c
vent (relay panel?). Sound went away when lights were
off. Sound also not there if inst. panel is working.
The noise kind of freaked me out cuz it was kind of
electrical *zap*zap* noise.

2. Volt symbol in autocheck sometimes appears. Again,
no apparent battery/alternator issues. No red voltage
idiot light. Car starts and runs fine.

I'm hoping all this is related to the ign. switch
which gets fixed Monday. Thoughts?
